Adding an Artist Profile

Adding artist profiles to your WordPress site helps showcase the talent and background of artists you feature. This guide will walk you through the steps to create and publish a new artist profile.

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Log in to Your WordPress Admin Dashboard:
   • Open your web browser and navigate to your WordPress login page (usually yourdomain.com/wp-admin).
   • Enter your username and password, then click “Log In.”
2. Navigate to the Artist Profiles Section:
   • In the left-hand sidebar of the WordPress dashboard, hover over “Artist profiles.”
   • Click on “Add a New Post” from the dropdown menu.
3. Create a New Artist Profile Post:
   • You will be taken to the post editor screen.
   • Enter the artist’s name in the “Add title” field. For example, “David Guetta.”
4. Fill in Artist Profile Details:
   • Under the “Artist profiles” meta box, fill in the required details:
     • Artist Introduction: A brief introduction to the artist. This appears just below the artist’s name.
     • Artist Biography: A detailed biography of the artist. Provide information about the artist’s background, career highlights, and achievements.
5. Add Social Profiles:
   • In the “Social profiles” section, add links to the artist’s social media profiles.
   • Enter the URL for each social profile and select the corresponding platform from the dropdown menu.
   • Click “Add Row” to include multiple social profiles.
6. Add Artist Tracks:
   • In the “Artist tracks” section, add links to the artist’s tracks from platforms like SoundCloud, Mixcloud, and Spotify.
   • Enter the URL for each track and select the corresponding platform from the dropdown menu.
   • Click “Add Row” to include multiple tracks.
7. Add Artist Videos:
   • In the “Artist videos” section, add video embeds from YouTube or other video platforms.
   • Enter the video URL in the provided field.
   • Click “Add Row” to include multiple videos.
8. Add Artist Website Link:
   • In the “Artist website link” section, enter the URL of the artist’s official website.
9. Set a Featured Image (Optional):
   • On the right-hand side, you can set a featured image for the artist profile post. Click on “Set featured image,” then upload an image or select one from your media library.
10. Preview and Publish:
    • Before publishing, you can preview your artist profile post by clicking the “Preview Changes” button.
    • Once you are satisfied with the content, click the “Publish” button to make the artist profile live on your website.
