Add Images to the Media Library

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Log in to Your WordPress Admin Dashboard:
   • Open your web browser and navigate to your WordPress login page (usually yourdomain.com/wp-admin).
   • Enter your username and password, then click “Log In.”
2. Access the Media Library:
   • In the left-hand sidebar of the WordPress dashboard, hover over “Media” and click on “Library.”
   • Alternatively, you can click “Add New” directly under “Media” to go straight to the upload screen.
3. Open the Upload New Media Screen:
   • If you accessed the Media Library first, click the “Add New” button at the top of the screen.
4. Upload Your Images:
   • You have two options to upload images:
     • Drag and Drop: Drag the image files from your computer and drop them into the upload area.
     • Select Files: Click the “Select Files” button, browse your computer for the images you want to upload, select them, and click “Open.”
   • WordPress will automatically upload the images to the Media Library.
5. Edit Image Details:
   • After uploading, you will see your new images in the Media Library.
   • Click on an image to view and edit its details.
   • In the Attachment Details screen, you can modify the following:
     • Title: The image title.
     • Caption: A caption displayed below the image when inserted into a post or page.
     • Alt Text: Text that describes the image, improving accessibility and SEO.
     • Description: Additional information about the image.
   • Make sure to save any changes by clicking the “Save” button.
6. Insert Images into Posts or Pages:
   • To insert an image into a post or page, navigate to the post or page editor.
   • Click the “Add Media” button above the content editor.
   • In the Media Library, select the image you want to insert.
   • On the right side, configure the attachment display settings, such as alignment, link options, and size.
   • Click the “Insert into post” button to add the image to your content.
